Measures corresponding to yearly service will done to the Länsimetro rail line’s smoke extraction fans before handing the stations and railway over to HKL.
The servicing work will start on June 16th from Ruoholahti and will be performed close to all stations (Lauttasaari, Koivusaari, Keilaniemi, Aalto University, Tapiola, Urheilupuisto, Niittykumpu, Matinkylä).
During servicing, the fans are run at full power for a few minutes, and the service use causes noise around them. The service will be executed during working hours from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The work will be finished by the end of July.
The smoke extraction fans will be used in emergencies to blow smoke from underground areas through the shafts to open air. There are a total of 32 smoke extraction fans in the Ruoholahti–Matinkylä section.
