A communal showcase

The Kaitaa metro station houses a communal showcase intended as an exhibition space for the actors in the station’s neighbourhood, such as schools, day-care centres and recreation clubs. The showcase is Länsimetro’s pilot in 2025.

Ground rules for the use of the communal showcase

• The showcase is intended for exhibitions lasting 1–2 months.
• The use of the showcase is free of charge.
• The showcase is not intended for presenting companies, commercial products or ideological, religious or political opinions.
• The exhibition must fit entirely inside the showcase. The exhibition must not extend to other areas of the station.
• The timeframe of the exhibition must be agreed on well in advance, and the contents of the exhibition must be submitted for approval beforehand by contacting viestinta@lansimetro.fi. Send a description of the exhibition’s theme, contents and timeframe and the contact person’s details by email.
• The organizer of the exhibition is responsible for mounting and dismantling the exhibition. Länsimetro agrees with the organizer on the timeframe, mounting and dismantling of the exhibition as well as other details when approving the exhibition. If the organizer is prevented from mounting or dismantling the exhibition, Länsimetro must be informed thereof without delay. If the organizer does not dismantle the exhibition at the agreed time, Länsimetro will dismantle the exhibition. Länsimetro is not responsible for storing the artworks after dismantling.
• If Länsimetro needs the exhibition space, for example, for maintenance work at the station, Länsimetro has the right to cancel and reschedule the exhibition to another time. Länsimetro will inform the organizer without delay.
• The showcase is made of toughened glass. The showcase is locked. The metro station is equipped with camera surveillance and public order at the station is monitored. Länsimetro is not responsible for the artwork showcased during an exhibition, and will not, for example, compensate damage caused by acts of vandalism or due to water damage or fire.
